ACT 6 at Galleria Azur

On view through December 20, 2024 in Miami, FL

At the intersection between perception and representation, the exhibition is presented as a dynamic dialogue between artistic vision and subjective interpretation. Based on the principles of art historian E. H. Gombrich, this collection explores how our perceptions and expectations shape the way we understand art. Gombrich postulated that the perception of art is not a passive experience but an active cognitive activity. In this exhibition, each work stands as a testimony to the "pattern theory," where artists have created their pieces not only in response to an external reality, but in a constant negotiation between the visual world and cultural expectations. Thus, art becomes a means to explore and challenge our preconceptions.
